In Vancouver, Canada, with its year-round cooler climate, children need clothes that are warm and made from soft, organic materials. Organic options are often too thin to provide reliable warmth, while thicker garments are often made from polyester. That inspired Pookoo: a garment that balances comfort, warmth, breathability, sustainability, and ease of wear – designed to move with children through play, rest, and daily moments.
By the time my second child arrived, I had learned the essential value of one particular piece—a zipper romper. It was ubiquitous in our memories: keeping them warm at night, versatile enough for Saturdays—making pancakes with Dad, solving puzzles on the living room floor, or chasing squirrels in the yard—and easy enough for them to put on themselves.
The name Pookoo means child, reflecting a simple philosophy: clothing that is thoughtful, safe, and sustainable, created to nurture the tender beginnings of future generations.
